2011 BAC Mono

The BAC Mono is constructed in carbon fibre with a tubular steel driver safety cell, complete with FIA-compliant roll over protection system – similar in concept to a DTM race car. Power comes from a 280 bhp, normally-aspirated 2.3-litre Cosworth unit mounted longitudinally and mated to an electronically-controlled, paddle-shift, six-speed sequential Hewland transmission with limited-slip differential. The rose-jointed, aero profiled pushrod suspension features adjustable Sachs Racing dampers derived from the heat of competition. The braking is by AP Racing, the bespoke HRT alloy wheels by OZ Racing, the purpose-developed, street-legal track tyres by Kumho, and the vehicle electronics and instrumentation by GEMS.

The driver is secured by a full six-point racing harness by Willans and there is a secure locker in which to store a helmet and the detachable steering wheel when parked. The seat is fixed for safety and optimum weight distribution (48/52 front to rear), and drivers of varying shapes and sizes can be readily accommodated thanks to the fully adjustable pedal box and steering column that can be altered for both height and rake. There is even the option of an F1-style fully-profiled seat.

2011 Spada Codatronca Monza

The one off Codatronca Monza is based on the line of the 2008 Codatronca coupe but has much more extreme characteristics. Codatronca Monza will be only a one off, but Spadaconcept will produce a spyder (barchetta) version of the Codatronca on demand. Codatronca Monza has a tubular chassis made of aluminium that was coated with a light carbon fiber and composite materials body. The engine was developed by Italtecnica starting from a V8 7 liter engine hardly modified. Now we can find 2 rotrex centrifugal superchargers that deliver the incredible power of 720 CV with over 90 kgm of torque. The car is able to reach the 100 km/h speed in only 3 seconds (in first gear) thanks to the 6 speed transmission with a very short gear ratio, and to reach the impressive top speed of 335 km/h.

The weight of the car is only of 1.180 kg, thanks to the racing interiors requested by Aznom with Sabelt seat and belts, and the Aim steering wheel that integrates the instrumentations with data acquisition (can, GPS). The on board camera Aim Smartycam records HD videos with the overlay of the telemetry and data captured by the steering wheel. The technical package is completed with the performance Pirelli PZero Corsa mounted on lightweight Oz Ultra-leggera wheels, and Brembo brakes, used for the cars of the FIA GT3 racing with abs and a fully adjustable suspension system always derived from FIA GT3.

2011 Wittera RetroMade Spyder

The RetroMade Spyder is inspired by a legendary 1950′s sports car. It was the beginnig of a famous reputable German car brand. But, though its modelled on the splendid curves of the classic, Retro-Made go further when it comes to drivetrain and suspension. So it is possible to obtain as much power as 245 HP. And, of course, there will be adequate driving charactersitics as well as proper braking power. In addition to two wheelbases, there is a wide range of further options to choose from.

The smallest version of RetroMade Spyder bases on the VW Käfer (Beetle). Late models must be retrofitted to torsion bar springs, because there is not enough space for the vertically mounted Mc Pherson suspension struts under the flat bonnet. Admittedly, the Beetle’s engines hardly provide enough power for drivers with ambitions. So we offer options. One is the 1.7 Liter motor of the Alfa 33. It generates 132 HP. This might not be considered powerful today. But thanks to a low weight, race car-like performance is guaranteed.

Even more is provided by a Subaru Boxer-type aggregate. It cranks out as much as 245 HP. In these cases the car is underpinned by a Pontiac Fiero chassis. Thus it features a mid engine layout, which has a positive effect on the driving manners. And with our S model, handling is further improved.

RetroMade Spyder is available in two width. Besides the standard body a wider one can be ordered. This S model provides more space for wider rims. Maximum tire width at the front axle is 185, while the rear wheel houses cover up to 205 mm wide rubbers.

This might not appear very impressive at first sight. However, on a small sports car like our Spyder, it appears strikingly athletic. In addition to that, grip and handling are enhanced. So this option is especially recommendable when more powerful engines are chosen.

2012 Pagani Huayra

The styling of the car was perfected over the course of 5 years to find each line’s beginning and end. During this study, eight scale models were created, as well as two 1:1 models, each an evolution of the previous in a never ending quest to perfect the form and refining the substance. The bi-xenon headlamps are just one of the many precious gifts from the Zonda R, and LED daytime running lights are seamlessly integrated in the elliptical shape of the design. The rear bumper integrates with the diffuser and is dominated by an elliptical frame that surrounds the four central exhaust outlets, now becoming a characteristic Pagani element. Backbone The new central monocoque on the Huayra is an entirely new design made from carbontitanium. However, with the gull wing doors cutting deep into the roof, much research was focused on achieving the highest levels of rigidity through the application of new advanced composite materials and technologies first tested on the Zonda R. The fuel tank is located integrally in the best protected area of the monocoque, behind the driver, reinforced by safety cell made of different composite and ballistic materials.

The front and rear CrMo subframes offer an exceptional rigidity-to-weight ratio to allowing the suspensions to work at their best while incorporating an advanced energy absorbing crash structure, ready to protect the occupants in the unlikely event of an impact. The never ending quest for weight reduction resulted also into the combination of structural and non-structural or aesthetical elements. An example is the integration of all ventilation air ducts into the monocoque’s structure, making the use of additional parts and ducts unnecessary. The result of this attention to detail is a vehicle weighing 1.350 kg making the Huayra the lightest sportscar in its class. Heart Mercedes-AMG provides the heart for the Huayra. The 60 degree 12 cylinder turbocharged engine with a displacement of 5980 cm3 has been developed not just to meet the strictest technical and quality requirements, but also to give the car its many faces. The calm and harmony of driving one of the world’s most refined GT car is interrupted when the driver calls upon the Huayra to unleash its 700 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. The turbos have been studied to offer immediate response to the slightest throttle input, giving the driver full control over the engine at any rpm and preventing unwanted delays in the delivery of power.

2012 SsangYong SUT-1

SsangYong’s SUT-1 is ready to enter mass production. Having debuted in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011, the truck has now evolved into a showroom ready model.

Far from being a stripped out commercial model, SUT-1 offers the cabin comfort and luxury of a premium SUV. Equipment includes a sunroof, RDS & Bluetooth audio, rear view camera, hinge sprung tailgate and a trip computer. Safety equipment hasn’t been forgotten either, with functions such as ESP and dual airbags fitted to make SUT-1 a genuine alternative to a conventional 4×4.

Efficiency has also been at the forefront of SUT-1′s engineering, with the 2.0 Active Diesel Engine complying with Euro 5 emissions standards and offering highly competitive economy. CO2 emissions have been reduced to 186g/km, representing a nine per cent improvement over the engine’s previous performance.

This impressive efficiency is achieved without any compromise in performance. Peak torque of 360Nm is maintained across a wide range of 1,500 to 2,800rpm, while 190Nm is delivered at a near-idle 1,000rpm.

Drivers have the option of either rear wheel drive or on demand four wheel drive in their SUT-1, coupled to six speed manual or automatic transmissions. The 2.0 Active Diesel Engine fitted to all variants is impressively efficient despite its 155ps power output. Buyers of the automatic model also benefit from a sixth cruising gear for maximum comfort and economy at motorway speeds.
