2011 Peugeot HX1 Concept
The Peugeot HX1 is a prospective concept designed to help envisage future solutions in numerous fields: architecture, aerodynamics, modularity, equipment, interior materials and the environment, not forgetting, of course, powerplants. These considerations have led to very strong bias that breaks from the norm and guided by a theme: ‘Metamorphosis’, to give the vehicle the capability to adapt itself to its environment, to life’s conditions, driving conditions, etc. and at any time.
HX1 has been designed with an MPV architecture with unique dimensions: low (1.373 m) and wide (1.990 m overall) and with a length of 4.954 m. The seven ‘spokes’ in each wheel rim spike, fashioned like a turbine blade, open to create a flat disc surface. At the same time, a spoiler and two side skirts located at the top of the tailgate are deployed above 62.1mph. When moving, the HX1 therefore adapts itself ‘physically’ to its environment.
The HX1 integrates HYbrid4 technology, an innovative modular architecture that figures in the Peugeot range on the 3008 HYbrid4, the first diesel hybrid in the world; technology which will also be present on the 508 RXH in 2012.

2012 Peugeot 4008
The off-road character has been emphasised by adopting a vertical design of grille, inclusion of body sill protectors and prominent wheel arch protection trims, to accommodate large wheels enhanced by the sophisticated design of the wheel rims. The almost-horizontal bonnet grooves and the style line – which extends to the rear wing where it descends again crossing the lamp – are a distinctive feature and appear to hollow out along the body side, accentuating the strong and dynamic aspect of the Peugeot 4008.
In the four-wheel drive version, the driver can select three transmission modes: “2WD” two-wheel drive, “4WD” four-wheel drive and “LOCK” locking of the four-wheel drive. In the two four-wheel drive modes – 4WD and LOCK – the distribution of the torque between the front and the rear is managed electronically. In LOCK mode, the four-wheel drive transmission becomes permanent, with even greater distribution of torque to the rear wheels.
This type of transmission will represent more than 80% of sales of the 4008. Peugeot’s new 4×4 SUV will in fact only be offered in a 4×4 version in certain countries, including Europe.
There will be four engines: Petrol: 1.6l 85 kW (116hp) / 152 Nm – 5-speed manual and 2.0l 113 kW (150hp) / 198 Nm – 5-speed manual or CVT. HDi Diesel: 1.6l HDi FAP 82 kW (112hp) / 270 – 280 Nm with overboost – 6-speed manual and 1.8l HDi FAP 110 kW (150hp) / 300 Nm – 6-speed manual.

2012 Peugeot 208
Peugeot 208 gives form to and refines the new aesthetic codes of the Marque. ‘Floating’ grille, light signature, ‘boomerang’ rear lamps – each detail is designed in complete harmony with the balance of the car, structured by a ‘spine’ the impression of which is even visible on the roof. Sculpted, athletic, pure and sophisticated, its style projects the Marque towards a renewed and attractive modernity, suggesting sensuousness and energy, smoothness and mischief. The two body styles have been given entirely different treatments, with the style of the quarter panel of the three-door version recalling one of its illustrious older siblings.
The Peugeot 208 comes with five models, four of which are equipped with the new generation Stop & Start System (e-HDi), the diesel range starts at 87g/km of CO2 (delivering fuel economy of 83.1 mpg) and never exceeds 99g! The Peugeot 208 introduces a new range of 3-cylinder petrol engines, 1.0- and 1.2-litre VTi, which are particularly efficient, with a range starting at 99g/km of CO2 (delivering 65.7mpg).
