2010 Volkswagen London Taxi Concept
Volkswagen London Taxi Concept is powered by an electric motor fed by lithium-ion batteries. With a capacity of 45 kW/h the batteries allow the electric motor to generate a maximum power output of 115 PS, translating to a theoretical top speed of 74 mph.
The Concept, which measures 3,730 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, is shorter than the current smallest Volkswagen, the Fox. However its long wheelbase and minimal front and rear overhangs allow it to have a spacious cabin with room for two adults to be seated in comfort plus an allocated area for luggage. At the front, the driving environment is similarly spacious, an impression emphasised by the large glass area.
The range of the Volkswagen London Taxi Concept is estimated at 186 miles between charges with an 80 per cent charge taking around one hour to complete.

2011 ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Touareg
ABT Touareg is a mountaineer, a workaholic, an elegant glider, a fast touring car and an agile XXL sports car all in one: with the 3.0 TDI, ABT POWER provides 282 HP (207 kW) compared to the series standard 240 HP (177 kW). The ABT POWER S technology even makes 310 HP (228 kW) available, while the torque is increased from 550 Nm to 580 Nm or 610 Nm. For the silky-smooth V8 turbo diesel with its 4.2 litre cubic capacity, 385 HP or 283 kW (series standard: 340 HP / 250 kW) and a torque of 870 Nm (series standard: 800 Nm) are available.
The ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Touareg also comes with the designer wheels ABT BR and CR. Both alloys are available in different sizes up to a powerful 22 inch version. It goes without saying that ABT also offers combinations with high-performance tyres, where the performance and the load index agree. Both the BR and CR wheels underline the contours of the Touareg and harmonise with the bodywork elements, which ABT has developed for the premium SUV: the sporty front grill and rear wing blend well into the vehicle’s design and the incorporation of the rear apron and the 4-pipe exhaust unit show exactly where the classy Touareg comes from.

2012 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet
Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is equipped with chrome trim strips on the radiator grille fins, and at the rear it features smoked LED rear lights and a sports-style bumper. Running from A-pillar to A-pillar, a chrome band encircles the side windows and the soft top. Also standard: green-tinted thermal insulating glass, 205 tyres in 16-inch format with weight-optimised wheel covers, and naturally the electro-hydraulic drive of the soft top.
As standard, the Golf Cabriolet leaves Volkswagen’s Osnabrück factory with weight-optimised 16-inch steel wheels with attractive full wheel covers and 205 tyres. Five different alloy wheels are also available as options (one 16-inch, three 17-inch, one 18-inch).
The 6 turbo direct-injection engines are ideal for cruising with a cabriolet. They cover a power range from 77 kW / 105 PS to 155 kW / 210 PS. Also fun is the fast and fuel-efficient high-tech dual clutch transmission (DSG), which is available with 4 of the engines. One petrol engine (TSI) and both diesels (TDI) will be available with energy-saving BlueMotion Technologies (battery regeneration and Stop/Start systems). Illustrating just how efficiently the new Volkswagen utilises fuel is the Golf Cabriolet 1.6 TDI with 105 PS with BlueMotion Technology: it offers a combined fuel consumption of just 4.4 l/100 km (equivalent to 117 g/km CO2).

2012 Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen Tiguan can be ordered in two different versions: one for on-road use and one specially tuned for off-road driving. Visually, the two models differ in their front ends (“On-road” has an 18 degree angle of approach, “Off-road” 28 degrees). In addition, like the on-road version, the off-road version is now also available with a top equipment line. In this case, the off-road specialist is known as the Track & Style (on-road: “Sport & Style”).
Three of the seven engines offered in Europe – all of them charged four-cylinder direct injection engines – are new to the Tiguan line-up. The four torque-strong petrol engines (TSI with 1.4 to 2.0 litres displacement) produce between 90 kW / 122 PS and 155 kW / 210 PS. The three powerful diesel engines (TDI) span a power range from 81 kW / 110 PS to 125 kW / 170 PS. Also available as an option on the new Volkswagen Tiguan is the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG) – one of the most efficient and sporty automatic transmissions.

2012 ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Tiguan
The specification book stated that the characteristics of the new Volkswagen Tiguan had to be supported. In plain talk this means that the car should have maximum reliability, enjoyable driving characteristics on almost all surfaces and agility – and the engineers at ABT have done a good job: the successful 2.0 TDI version now offers strong 170 HP/125 kW (series standard: 140 HP/103 kW) or 195 HP/143 kW (series standard: 170 HP/125 kW). With the economical turbo petrol engine with 1.4 litre cubic capacity a dynamic 210 HP (154 kW) is available instead of the standard 160 HP (118 kW). The fact that the fuel consumption does not increase as a result is a matter of course at ABT Sportsline. The sportiest Volkswagen Tiguan facelift is the one with the 2.0-TSI engine. The machinery is currently undergoing extensive testing but the technicians have already revealed that – depending on the series performance – either over 210 HP (154 kW) or as much as 250 HP (184 kW) will be reached.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle is 1,808 mm wide (84 mm wider), 1,486 mm tall (12 mm lower) and 4,278 mm long (152 mm longer). This has resulted in entirely new proportions. The gain in length meant that the roof could be extended further, the front windscreen could be shifted back, and the rear section could follow the contour of the original Beetle. The new focal point is the C-pillar. In parallel, the development team increased the car’s track widths and wheelbase. All of this gives the VW Beetle a powerful appearance with muscular tension.
VW Beetle will be offered as a turbodiesel for the first time. The Beetle 2.0 TDI (103 kW / 140 PS) meets all USA emission limits and attains 40 mpg fuel economy in the Highway cycle, 29 mpg in City driving, and 33 mpg combined. Incidentally, the Volkswagen not only has excellent fuel economy values in the version with a 6-speed manual gearbox, but also – and this is a technical debut in the Beetle as well – with the optional 6-speed dual clutch transmission.
Fuel economy values were also improved in the 2.5-litre five cylinder petrol engine, which was already a success in the previous model. The manually shifted VW Beetle attains 22 mpg (City), 31 mpg (Highway) and 25 mpg (combined). Its counterpart with a 6-speed automatic comes in at 22 mpg (City), 29 mpg (Highway) and 25 mpg (combined) – this represents an increase of up to 10 percent in fuel economy.
In markets such as Asia, Australia, Europe and New Zealand, the new Volkswagen Beetle will be offered exclusively with charged engines. All engine versions – all of them with four cylinders – are being used for the first time in this model series. The car exhibits significantly reduced fuel consumption and emission values compared to the previous model thanks to the switch to turbo-petrol (TSI) and common rail turbodiesel direct injection engines (TDI). The three charged petrol engines of the Beetle output 77 kW / 105 PS, 118 kW / 160 PS and 147 kW / 200 PS. The two diesel engines develop 77 kW / 105 PS and 103 kW / 140 PS (TDI engines are not offered in China). All five engines may be combined with a dual clutch transmission as an option.
